Be perfect
Christians must know that God wants us to be perfect like Him. And this perfection is defined by Him as it should be. Let's take a look.

Although countless people seek to justify themselves by the fact that they are imperfect humans, Jesus Himself said that we should be perfect as our heavenly Father is perfect. And this perfection is manifested in the biblical texts.

The Holy Spirit says, “The law of the Lord is perfect.” Psalm 19:7, first part. So whoever keeps the perfect law becomes perfect in God's eyes. But what about the other things, don't they need to be observed? Absolutely.

That is why the world is imperfect and seeks to justify itself in this. Because if we keep God's law, He dwells in us and gives us dominion over everything, and also compels us in everything that needs to be perfected in us.

For, as Jesus said, the world lies in evil, having as its father the prince of darkness.

And several biblical texts show how the children of darkness act. This is in Romans 1:18-32; II Timothy 3:1-5; Psalm 1:1; Deuteronomy 14:3-10; 22:5; 27:15-26; Leviticus 11:4-47. Proverbs 6:16-19.

Things that are common among Gentiles today, such as quarreling, are disapproved of by God, even if done by a man toward his spouse. See:

“Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice.” Ephesians 4:31.

“If, on the contrary, you harbor bitter envy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast about it or deny the truth. This is not the wisdom that comes down from above, but is earthly, animalistic, demonic. For where there is envy and strife, there is confusion and every kind of evil.” James 3:14-16.

“Their throat is an open grave; with their tongues they practice deceit; the poison of vipers is under their lips; their mouth is full of cursing and bitterness; their feet are swift to shed blood; destruction and misery are in their ways; they have not known the way of peace. There is no fear of God before their eyes.” Romans 3:13-18.

“Husbands, love your wives and do not treat them harshly. Children, obey your parents in everything, for this pleases the Lord. Fathers, do not provoke your children, lest they become discouraged. Servants, obey your earthly masters in everything, not only when they are watching, to please men, but with sincerity of heart, fearing the Lord. Whatever you do, do it wholeheartedly, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that you will receive the reward of inheritance from the Lord. It is Christ the Lord whom you are serving.” Colossians 3:19-24.

Therefore, seek perfection, you who are imperfect, so that you may be children of the Most High and may be among those chosen to dwell in the new earth, where the righteous will dwell.
