Russian special operation in Ukraine
This was the name given by the Russian government to the invasion of Ukraine. Let's see what makes the Russian war operation special.
As is well known and widely reported in the global media, military action has been ongoing between Russia and Ukraine since February 2022, when Russia invaded its neighbor and former technology project partner, Ukraine, although hostilities date back to 2014, when the Russian government seized the Crimean peninsula by force.
The Russian territorial expansion project has been in the works for at least two decades. And what I am saying is undoubtedly possible to prove by the way the Russian government acted in relation to Ukraine, as we shall see.
However, as has been reported in the media, the Russian government proposed almost two decades ago to eliminate Ukraine's nuclear weapons, leased territory from Ukraine within the Crimean peninsula and installed a military base in that territory, built a super-strong bridge connecting Russian territory to it, worked together with Ukrainian engineers in order to be informed about their objectives, planted Russian or pro-Russian citizens in the Ukrainian government and political circles, and financed pro-Russian activist groups to create a separatist movement in some provinces bordering Russia, such as Donetsk, Kherson, and Luhansk, and claimed that Russian citizens were being discriminated against and mistreated by the Ukrainian government, among other arguments and procedures. All of this was planned by its president and the center of political power in Russia, the Kremlin.
The Ukrainian government may not have realized the intentional maneuvers of its former “friend” and partner in space, industrial, and naval activities, as Ukraine built ships and rockets for Russia in conjunction with Russian technical staff, not only while the Soviet bloc was still intact, but also in the years that followed.
As the West did not intervene in the Russian government's appropriation of Crimea, this strengthened the Russian government's belief that the invasion and annexation of other Ukrainian territories would also not be met with Western intervention.
As if all that we have already described as intentional activity planned by the Russian government were not enough, several other projects were articulated with the same objective: to dominate Ukraine by military force and install a pro-Russian government there. Thus, the installation of a military base and the domination of the territory of Transnistria was a strategy to surround Ukraine and force it to defend itself on two fronts in the event of a future invasion, as this was also a deliberate move.
In addition to infiltrating agents into the governments of countries that border Russia or that could favor Russia in the event of a military skirmish with a neighboring country. Thus, even in Germany, the tentacles of the Russian government were extended, with pro-Russian agents working within the German government.
Even the Nord Stream 1 and 2 gas pipelines were built to make Europe dependent on Russian energy, with the intention of preventing it from interfering with the plan to annex Ukraine to Russian territory.
All of this was done deliberately. Thus, when Ukraine was invaded by the Russian army, it was unprepared to face the force that assaulted it with more than a hundred thousand soldiers and thousands of tanks and military vehicles.
The Russian government carefully mapped out the points considered fragile and necessary to be attacked and put out of action during the invasion of Ukraine, and targeted not only the territories with separatist movements, but also Kiev, the capital of Ukraine, as its intention was to eliminate its government, President Volodymyr Zelensky.
The Russian government's confidence in its military capabilities was such that it provided uniforms for its army to parade in after its supposed victory over Ukraine. Not knowing that “the horse is prepared for battle, but victory comes from the Lord.” And “cursed is the man who trusts in his own strength.”
But let's see what else is “special” about the Russian government's war operation against Ukraine.
Since the first wave of invasion, war crimes committed by Russian soldiers have been reported, such as theft, murder, rape, deportation of citizens and children to Russian territory, and also by the Russian military command itself, as confirmed by statements from Ukrainian soldiers taken prisoner by the Russian army, as well as by Ukrainian citizens.
This is a pattern of behavior by Russian commanders and soldiers, showing a lack of respect for human beings and contempt for them.
What can we expect from a government that ordered the killing of its own citizens and even “friends” of Russia's dictator himself, such as some oligarchs who were murdered with their families even abroad? If “his friends” are not exempt from his cruelty, how much more so the ordinary citizen, who is condemned simply for saying that there is “war” between one country and another.
The “comedian,” as the president of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, has been called, has shown himself to be a true strategist by resisting the second largest military power on the globe, as well as putting it in a position of shame before many countries that had a great ally and supplier of military equipment in that country.
Do not be surprised if this despotic government has to accept a shameful surrender for peace. For God humbles the wicked, but gives grace to the humble. Slava Ukraine!
