What kind of career should we pursue in order to enter the kingdom of God? Many run toward this goal, but the door may close before they reach it. Why?

There are people who feel satisfied that they are walking toward heaven, as they claim. But they are walking at a leisurely pace, without much effort, as if they had “all the time in the world” for it.

However, the problem is that time flies and life passes, and death may come before a person is prepared to dwell in the place destined for the righteous.

While life slips away like oil through your fingers, your steps are not taken at the same speed, but are like those of a turtle. We could even compare the two speeds to that of a hummingbird and a turtle on dry land.

And such people still justify themselves by saying that they are going slowly, but that they are walking, and that is what matters. As if it were not important to win, but only to fight. They forget that everyone runs in the stadium, but only one takes the prize, as the apostle Paul says.

I suggest that such people strive to assimilate the knowledge of God, basing themselves on His word, in order to produce fruit and not just be exuberant with their foliage. Because the tree that does not bear fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.

Connect yourself to the true vine through obedience to God's commandments, and thus you will bear fruit worthy of eternal life. Don't waste time trusting that you will get there slowly.
