Many consider themselves spokespersons for God, and arrive with a supposed “message from Him” for others. But it is necessary to know certain signs and characteristics of the authentic ones, in order not to be deceived.

And these signs and characteristics can be recognized in two perceptible ways. One is visually, the other is orally, that is, by their speech.

Although some may come dressed as sheep, we cannot judge them to be so, since the Lord warned us about this and said that we should beware of those who come dressed as sheep but are inwardly ravenous wolves. Thus, they speak like lambs, but they are dragons.

Well, the lamb is meek and peaceful, in contrast to the goat, which is nervous, restless, and easily exasperated. It is enough for it to be confronted, challenged, or contradicted.

Likewise, Jesus said that “He who is of God hears the words of God.” And this is His law or Commandments. So, if anyone does not bring this doctrine, which is the true gospel, do not receive him into your house or even greet him, because whoever greets him shares in his evil deeds.

Therefore, the Holy Spirit says in Proverbs of Solomon that the true witness speaks the truth, but the false witness spouts lies. And as a psalmist says, Truth is the law of God. Psalm 119:142. Thus, a lie is the denial of truth or of God's law.
Jesus also said that His sheep hear His voice. And this is a reference to His law. So, whoever does not listen to His Law is not His sheep.

He also said to some of His contemporaries that they had the devil as their father, who did not stand firm in the truth (His law). Therefore, those who are not grounded in God's law are not His. John 8:44.

The Holy Spirit says that there are two kinds of people, the children of God and the children of the devil, and that those who do not practice righteousness are not of God. And God's righteousness is His commandments, the Decalogue. I John 3:10.
Jesus also said that His sheep know Him. John 10:14. And to know God is to keep His commandments. I John 2:3. Therefore, whoever does not keep His commandments is not His.

Another characteristic of those who are of God is love. Not sentimental love, but the love of God, which corresponds to His commandments. John 15:9 and 10. I John 5:3.

Therefore, be alert, do not be impressed by beautiful words or well-crafted narratives. Check with what the Master and the Spirit say. Because it is predicted that the antichrist will perform signs such that, if possible, he would deceive even the elect.
