Whoever does not take up their cross and follow me…
What is the symbol of Christianity—the cross? Call me crazy, but pause for a moment and reflect on what I am about to say.
I have already addressed this in another piece I wrote, but I think it is timely to discuss the topic. What does the cross represent?
The cross was the weapon that killed the Lord, the Creator of heaven and earth; therefore, it should not be revered. Because, if a beloved child of yours were killed by a firearm, would you make a replica of it and display it as a relic to be revered?
And that is what happens with the cross. It has been revered to the detriment of the One who was unjustly killed by it. And this has been done improperly by the people who should be the first to defend truth and justice—which is God’s law and His word, His way, His love, and eternal life. Psalm 119:142, last part; v. 172, last part; v. 160; Malachi 2:8; John 15:9 and 10; John 12:50, first part.
The image of a cross has no value, virtue, or power; just as the image attributed to the Lord Jesus has no virtue or power. For this contradicts His law, which says, “You shall not make for yourself a carved image of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath…” Exodus 20:4 and 5.
Take up your cross—that is, your duty as a Christian—not a replica of the weapon that killed the Master Jesus, the Lord of true Christians. For Jesus said, “WHOEVER DOES NOT TAKE UP HIS CROSS AND FOLLOW HIM IS NOT WORTHY OF HIM.” Matthew 10:38
Therefore, do not be led astray by strange concepts, even if they are proposed by the pope or any other leader, whether he is considered Christian, Jewish, or Muslim. Beware of false Christianity. Christ is the Word of God, His law, or His Commandments. Deuteronomy 30:11–14, Romans 10:6–10.
