What do you need?
There are so many desires and needs among people that it is hard to even list them all. Sometimes these desires and needs are directed toward me. Why do so many of these desires and needs go unfulfilled?
Among those who have these desires and needs are many who have the Creator of heaven and earth as their shepherd. Even though a psalm says, “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.” Psalm 23:1.
And why are they lacking? And what causes might stand in the way of obtaining them? Since God is so good, as these same people claim, is He perhaps so distant from those He created, or does He turn a deaf ear so as not to hear?
First of all, we must rationalize the way we ask. Because, although God is good, He does not answer the cry of vanity. Then, we must understand what He says through Isaiah regarding why He does not answer. It says there that “sins create a separation between us and Him, so that prayers are not heard.”
Furthermore, requests are made by trying to use improper shortcuts as intermediaries, contrary to His decree that states there is no one in heaven who can serve as a mediator between us and God except Jesus.
Moreover, there is also false trust in humans as helpers. It’s this one, that one, so-and-so, such-and-such, the rulers, etc.
Meanwhile, the Holy Spirit says through Paul: “Let your needs be known to God.”
“And my God will meet all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:19.
Therefore, reconsider how or to whom you are asking. Because God is neither dead nor asleep, but simply waiting for His will to be done. “Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart.”
