THE GOSPEL FOR ALL

2)    Where does the word “gospel” come from?
From the Greek: euaggelion, which gave rise to the Latin word evangelium.
3)    According to the morphology and semantics of the word “gospel,” what is its meaning in Greek?
  “I proclaim.”
4)    And according to the Holy Scriptures, what is it?
The power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes—first for the Jew, and also for the Greek. Rom. 1:16.
5)    How else did the Apostle Paul define the gospel?
And how will they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news of peace, who bring glad tidings of good news.” Rom. 10:15.
6)    Where is God’s righteousness revealed?
In the gospel. Rom. 1:16–17.
7)    What do people today say the gospel is?
The books of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John.
8)    And why does this concept not agree with the Holy Scriptures?
There is ample evidence, including the following:
a)    That the gospel was first proclaimed to Abraham. Gal. 3:8.
b)    That since the gospel is the Good News of salvation, it was also proclaimed to the Israelites on their journey to Canaan. Heb. 4:2.
c)    Before those books were written—which only happened after Jesus’ ascension to heaven—He was already saying: “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand. Repent and believe in the gospel.” Mark 1:15.
d)    And this gospel of the Kingdom will be preached throughout the world as a testimony to the truth. Matthew 24:14.

g)    That the Gentiles are joint heirs, members of the same body, and partakers of the promise in Christ through the Gospel. And as another Scripture says, this unity is brought about by Christ, who fulfills the commandments. Eph. 3:6, 4:13.
h)    That the apostle Paul says he neither received it nor learned it from any man, but through a revelation from Jesus Christ. Gal. 1:12.   Thus, he did not receive it from the other apostles.
i)    That the gospel was hidden throughout all ages and in every generation, and that it was then revealed to His saints. Col. 1:26.
j)    That in addition to the healings Jesus performed, He also proclaimed the gospel; see:
Then Jesus replied and said to them, “Go and tell John what you have seen and heard: the blind see, the lame walk, lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the poor have the gospel preached to them.” Luke 7:22.
9) In obeying Jesus’ command, what did the disciples do?
And they went out and traveled through all the villages, proclaiming the gospel and healing people everywhere. Luke 9:6.
10)    What did Philip proclaim?
Philip found himself in Azotus, and as he traveled on, he proclaimed the gospel in every town until he reached Caesarea. Acts 8:40.

Through the gospel. 2 Tim. 1:10.
12)    Through what are the Gentiles made co-heirs and fellow partakers of the promise in Christ?
Through the gospel. Eph. 3:6.
13) Among other things, what did John see in the revelation of the Book of Revelation?
And I saw another angel flying in the midst of heaven, having the eternal gospel to proclaim to those who dwell on the earth—to every nation, tribe, tongue, and people. Rev. 14:6.
14)    Against whom will the Lord take vengeance at His coming?
Against those who do not know God and are disobedient to the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. 2 Thess. 1:8.
15)    Through what are we begotten in Christ Jesus?
For even if you had ten thousand fathers in Christ, you do not have many fathers; for I begot you in Jesus Christ through the gospel. 1 Cor. 4:15.
16)    What serious accusation does the Apostle Paul make?
That there are some who want to distort the gospel of Christ. Gal. 1:7.
17)    What warning does the same apostle give?
But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel other than the one we have preached to you, let him be accursed. So, just as we have told you before, I tell you again now: If anyone preaches a different gospel to you than the one you received, let him be accursed. Gal. 1:8–9.
18)    Through what can we attain the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ?

Through the gospel. 2 Thess. 2:14.
19)    What did the Lord say through the prophet Isaiah regarding the gospel?
How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of the one who brings good news, who proclaims peace, who brings good tidings, who proclaims salvation, who says to Zion, “Your God reigns!” Isa. 52:7.
